What is the sum of the infinite geometric series:
6 + 4 + 8/3 + 16/9 + ... ?
(E) There is no sum.
The formula for the sum of a geometric series is S = a1/(1 - r), where a1 is the first term and r is the common ration. In this problem a1 = 6 and r = 4/6 = 2/3.
So, S = 6 / (1 - 2/3) = 6 / (1/3) = 18.
