What if you are not a straight-A student? Can you get into a top college?

Absolutely!

Following is a list of highly ranked colleges that would accept B students. Check the incoming student GPA and SAT scores. If you do not have a 4.0 GPA,  we suggest to work on increasing your ACT and SAT scores. In fact, we suggest you should take both, and take the ACT before the SAT! And if your SAT scores are not you want, work with us to get a high ACT score.

1. PURDUE UNIVERSITY (IN)

GPA, class of 2015: 3.7
SAT: 1080 - 1330

About: It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 29,497, its setting is city, and the campus size is 2,468 acres. Purdue University--West Lafayette's ranking in the 2017 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities, 60. Its in-state tuition and fees are $10,002 (2016-17); out-of-state tuition and fees are $28,804 (2016-17). Purdue is a member of the Big Ten Conference and enrolls the second largest student body of any university in Indiana, as well as the fourth largest international student population of any university in the United States.[7]

2. RUTGERS UNIVERSITY (NJ)

GPA, class of 2015: n/a
SAT: 1110 - 1330

About: It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 35,484, and the setting is City. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. Rutgers University--New Brunswick's ranking in the 2017 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities, 70. Its in-state tuition and fees are $14,372 (2016-17); out-of-state tuition and fees are $30,023 (2016-17).

3. SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY (NY)

GPA, class of 2015: 3.6
SAT: 1090 - 1290

About: It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 15,196, its setting is city, and the campus size is 708 acres. Syracuse University's ranking in the 2017 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities, 60. Its tuition and fees are $45,022 (2016-17)

4. PEPPERDINE UNIVERSITY (CA)

GPA, class of 2015: 3.6
SAT: 1100 - 1320

About: It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 3,533, its setting is suburban, and the campus size is 830 acres. Pepperdine University's ranking in the 2017 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities, 50. Its tuition and fees are $50,022 (2016-17). In addition to its main campus in Malibu, Pepperdine University offers graduate courses at California campuses in Los Angeles, Irvine, Santa Clara, Encino and Westlake Village. The school also has facilities in Germany, England, Italy, Switzerland, Argentina and Washington, D.C.

5. UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS, AMHERST (MA)

GPA, class of 2015: 3.8
SAT: 1130 - 1310

About: It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 22,748, its setting is suburban, and the campus size is 1,463 acres. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. University of Massachusetts--Amherst's ranking in the 2017 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities, 74.

6. VIRGINIA  TECH (VA)

GPA, class of 2015: 3.6
SAT: 1100 - 1320

About: It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 25,384, its setting is rural, and the campus size is 2,600 acres. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. Virginia Tech's ranking in the 2017 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities, 74. At Virginia Tech, a former military institute with its background in the sciences, students are encouraged to “invent the future.” Students are known as Hokies, a term that was the original rally cry when the school was known as the Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute.
