Hillview Prep's Writing Program

Instruction Format:

• 1-on-1 Instruction; Group (3-4 Students).
• Instruction takes place at the Hillview Prep Tutoring Center.
  
• Course schedules are strategically planned in accordance to the student's schedule and goals.

Hillview Prep's Approaches to Writing:

• Expression using personal experiences and knowledge of current events.
• Developing a superior vocabulary that our students will consistently implement into their writing and speech.
• Complete understanding of sentence and essay structure in order to express thoughts in a fluid, sequential manner.

Students will learn and practice writing (in MLA format):

• Basic grammar and punctuation
• Essay structure in detail
• Effective outline strategies
• Arguments based on current events
• Expression of personal interests and past experiences
• Expression of future goals and ambitions
• Creative writing essays
• Short-passage reports
